The 2000km Journey: Sourcing from the Brahmaputra Valley

The journey of an N. D. Shah tea leaf begins over 2,000 kilometers away from Dholka, in the fertile floodplains of the Brahmaputra River in Assam.

Assam is home to the world's largest tea-growing region, producing teas known for their unique malty flavor and intense liquor. Our sourcing team visits these estates during the peak harvest seasons—the First and Second Flushes—to select batches that meet our stringent criteria.

We look for more than just a grade; we look for the "soul" of the season. The relationship we share with these heritage estates is built on decades of mutual respect and fair trade. Once selected, the tea is transported under climate-controlled conditions to our Dholka facility, where the "Pure Intent" of the garden is preserved through our careful blending process.
